Artists In Focus
SO/ Paris, dreamed up by rising stars in the worlds of fashion, architecture and art, shines a new light on the city and is dedicated to becoming the leading hotel of the Parisian avant-garde.
Judith Darmont
The “REFLECTIONS OF LOVE” installation is an immersive digital journey by Judith Darmont that begins in the lobby, guides you to the elevator and then to your room.
RDAI
The architectural firm RDAI, represented by Denis Montel, was the mastermind behind the interior spaces. Step into the lobby, and you get an immediate sense of the place: daring and unlike anything you’ve seen before.
Guillaume Henry
Dressing the hotel staff is Guillaume Henry, a rising star in the couture world and the artistic director of the Patou fashion house. More like a wardrobe than a uniform, this charming and fresh collection is designed for athletic people on the go.
The Seeing City
The Seeing City, a large-scale artwork installation conceived by Studio Other Spaces, Olafur Eliasson and Sebastian Behmann, has transformed the bay windows of the restaurant and bar facades, situated on the 15th and 16th floors, into a machine to expand the mind. Get in touch if you want to come and view the artwork.
Neil Beloufa
In a collaboration with Neïl Beloufa, SO/ Paris asserts its artistic and avant-gardist pedigree. The French-Algerian artist has created a circular resin masterpiece whose appearance varies depending on the observer’s vantage point and the lobby’s evolving light throughout the day, giving this space an ever-changing depth.
Thomas Fougeriol
SO/ Paris has commissioned artist Thomas Fougeirol to create a group of 113 unique photograms and five photomontages for the bedrooms and suites. These are inspired by his strolls along the Seine, from the Sully Morland neighbourhood to the Trocadero.
Notoire
Jordane Arrivetz of the creative agency Notoire was responsible for designing the festive Bonnie trifecta of restaurant, bar and club. The décor plays in counterpoint to Olafur Eliasson’s work, with rounded and enveloping shapes, sumptuous and soft textures, and warm vibrant colours – an updated homage to the Sixties and Seventies.
